Our client is currently looking for an autonomous and hands on person willing to take the challenge of becoming a Senior Accountant in the company, to be based in Barcelona center. It’s a great challenge with fantastic conditions!

The main purpose of this role will be to ensure the accomplishment of all accounting, tax, treasury and administrative processes, on time, according the internal policies and all laws applicable, giving close support to the Accounting Manager.

Main accountabilities of this position are:

• Prepare monthly accounting closings in appropriate form and time
• Analyze the reasonability of the evolution of different items in the Balance Sheet, jointly with Controlling (more focused in P&L) and identify potential mistakes, over or under evaluations and suggest alternative approaches to ensure a proper booking process
• Prepare (or extract the info to be prepared) tax forms and submit them in form and on time, in collaboration with external tax advisors
• Collaborate with the controlling department to generate useful information for the generation of reports
• Define actions and lead the changes to ensure efficiencies, innovation and improvement in collection and payment terms (cash flow) to optimize WC
• Participate in the cash flow management, including the cash flow statement and forecast, analysis of exchange rate risks, calculate accruals of interests and suggest internal allocation of financial resources between related companies
• Develop and manage business partner relationships with financial entities and collaborate in partner relationships with main customers and suppliers

Additionally, it is necessary to have a general overview of the customer collection process and review the up-to-date information on the status of the customer portfolio and the account payables accounting process, advising in case of incidents.

And who you’ll be?

We’re looking for a person with the following background:

• University Degree in Economy or similar
• Fluent English and Spanish
• 5-10 years of Experience in Accountancy, Treasury, A/R, A/P and/or Taxes in SAP environment
• Analytical and research skills
• IT knowledge at user level (SAP and Office tools)
• Able to travel when required
• Organized way of working, focused in deliver results in time and with a high level of quality
• Problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities
• Positive mindset and “can do” attitude
• Flexible and experience driving change, able to respond to new internal/external requirements
