A leading company in the coatings and materials industry is seeking a Packaging Technology Manager. This role is central to managing and ensuring the company's packaging formats are purpose-fit, capable of running on filling lines while meeting product quality standards, including secondary and tertiary packaging. The ideal candidate will drive harmonization across the region, manage escalated packaging issues, and ensure supply security while proposing and delivering best practice solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver best packaging solutions across the region, achieving product quality and ensuring efficient production and distribution.
• Manage the packaging portfolio in collaboration with commercial, procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Drive harmonization and standardization across the packaging portfolio, meeting business requirements.
• Ensure packaging quality by coordinating with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing based on specifications, including compatibility tests and trials.
• Provide second-line technical support, conducting root cause analyses and liaising with relevant functions and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Ensure packaging meets sustainability standards and contributes to cost savings.
• Lead and participate in projects within the discipline, understanding manufacturing capabilities and requirements for packaging lines.
• Drive packaging improvements to achieve operational excellence and maintain master data according to standard formats and guidelines.

What Do You Bring?

• BSc/MSc in Technical Engineering or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant packaging experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with metal (cans, drums, etc.) or plastic packaging formats (pails, buckets, tubes, etc.) in production and distribution, including e-commerce.
• Knowledge of engineering disciplines (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical) with an affinity for related fields.
• Understanding of sustainability and compliance regulations affecting packaging.
• Experience in quality management and addressing issues with suppliers and within the organization.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills, a structured approach, and project management experience.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments such as Marketing, R&D, Procurement, and suppliers.
• Experience in a multinational environment and sensitivity to different cultural behaviors.
• Willingness to travel and support multiple sites at a regional level.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
