We are currently supporting a world-renowned multinational in the chemical industry in the search for an experienced finance leader to join their team as Cluster Accounting Controller for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

The position is based at the company's Cologne office, working in close collaboration with regional and global finance stakeholders.

🧭 About the role

As Cluster Accounting Controller DACH, you will lead the accounting and financial compliance function across the region. Your key mission will be to ensure full statutory and group reporting accuracy in accordance with IFRS and HGB, while supporting strategic business initiatives through high-quality financial insights.

You will be part of a dynamic finance leadership team, with both operational and strategic responsibilities. This includes overseeing audits, driving improvements in internal controls, supporting financial integration and harmonization across countries, and acting as a trusted advisor for both local and international leadership.

✅ Your responsibilities will include:

Overseeing accounting operations for the DACH region in accordance with both IFRS and HGB standards. 

Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to group-level and local authorities. 

Coordinating external and internal audits, while ensuring compliance with corporate governance policies. 

Supporting tax compliance and liaising with local tax advisors and internal tax teams. 

Driving continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes and reporting tools. 

Leading cross-functional collaboration with finance, operations, and shared service teams. 

Representing the DACH finance function in international finance projects and transformation programs.

🎯 What we are looking for:

A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or controlling, ideally within a multinational context. 

Deep expertise in IFRS and HGB accounting frameworks. 

Proven leadership and project coordination skills in complex organizational environments. 

Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset. 

Fluency in English is required; German is a strong asset. 

A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
